"BLACKOUT ON GOLDI LX-27" (2022)
"BLACKOUT ON GOLDI LX-27" is a game manual concept for a tabletop mystery RPG set in space.
When the party of player characters makes their journey to meet with the starship U.S.S. Perseverance only to find the flagship in shambles and the nearest planet, GOLDI LX-27, under complete shutdown, they're led by the game master through a journey to discover the secrets of GLX-27 and find out just what happened to the formerly shining planet while avoiding the all seeing eye of its Executive, Oswald Hale Hawking.
PLAYER CHARACTERS - Species design
Players are given a selection of species to play as, each with unique characteristics and strengths, as well as diverse outlooks that can provide players a new and varied experience with each game. Provided are example characters and brief descriptions of each species, with players being encouraged to lean in as well as deviate from the provided concepts in order to create personalized and compelling player characters.
NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS - character design
Non-player characters are able to be improvised by each game master in "BLACKOUT ON GOLDI LX-27", however the game manual provides images and descriptions for key characters whom the players are likely to encounter and who drive the story.
LOCATION DESIGN - STATION 42
Upon reaching Station 42 at the center of the planet, players discover that PENNY IRE is not a person but rather the computer program that oversees the entirety of GLX-27. The program had recently gone rogue and shut down the planet to stop Hawking from destroying it and its workers any further than he already had in his pursuit of immortality.
Underneath Station 42 is what remains of the workers who went missing after the blackout; mashed together in a massive, disgusting ball of flesh and wires, pulsing and powering the machine Hawking plans to use to attain a digital form.
